OK, so I was hanging out with some friends talking about them. One of my friends (for Carl, Scott Born of Kill Creek fame (PM me if you want there new stuff)) was wanting me to compare them to somebody. And also wanted to know what there best album is. I said Oriental Beat. How's about some input from the rest of ya.

All of them are superb, but for me it's Back to mystery City. A completely awesome album and the one that got me through college, especially when you listen to songs like Until I get you - bloody fantastic!!

Yes, this is a tough one. Probably everyone of them has been my favourite at some point, but I?d go maybe for Back to Mystery City, also. It has ok sounds and also many of my favourite songs, like Until I get you, Sailing down the tears and Ice cream Summer.
But still, it could be just any of those previous albums as well. First two got lousy sounds, maybe, but they?re full of great songs. As is Self Destruction Blues, too.
All those waisted years is a great livealbum, and would be a great way to get to know HR, if one?s a fan of livealbums.
Two steps...I just bought that remastred version, and discoverd that it?s still as boring as I remembered. But it was my favourite when it came out.

For comparison purposes, I always thought they sounded a bit like the NY Dolls....a talented version that could write songs, that is. Gotta go with either the first one OR Oriental Beat, imo. Both great places to start.

Hanoi comparison? Simple: Equal parts early Alice Cooper and Rolling Stones.
Best album? Mystery City.
New Kill Creek? Have they gone back to the early days yet, or are they still too mellow? I can't even remember what that damned first EP sounded like that made me love them!!!
